Fall Festival Scarecrow Contest

Registration Guidelines

Deadline for Registration is October 11th

Please keep these rules and guidelines in mind when designing your scarecrow:

Must be family-friendly
Must be one piece and transportable
May not be taller than seven feet
May not be wider than three feet
Must have a post or cross bar to attach to a fence with zip ties
Heritage Sylvania will provide zip ties
Heritage Sylvania will provide signage for your scarecrow with voting details

Heritage Sylvania reserves the right to remove entries that violate these guidelines.

Awards

Ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and People's Choice.

A judge will determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd while the public will have a chance to vote for the People's Choice.

Winning scarecrows will be posted on social media. Winners will be contacted the week after the Fall Festival.

Scarecrow Drop-Off

Friday, October 16th between 4pm and 6pm

Please contact Heritage Sylvania if you are not able to drop off at this time.

Scarecrows will not be accepted after 6pm on the 16th.

A Heritage Sylvania staff member will be on site to help you set up your scarecrow.

Scarecrow Pick-Up

If you chose to pick up your scarecrow at Heritage Sylvania, after the event, please select a pick up time in your registration. Please note that someone will be on site waiting for you. Please respect their time by fulfilling your commitment to pick up your scarecrow during that time window.

SCARECROWS NOT PICKED UP BY OCTOBER 25TH WILL BE DISPOSED OF

Drop-Off and Pick-Up

Scarecrow drop-off is Friday, October 16th between 4-6pm at Centennial Terrace(Required)

I will be there to drop off my scarecrow

I will not be able to make it at that time and will need to schedule an earlier drop-off at the Heritage Sylvania campus

Do you want your scarecrow back after the event?(Required)

No, Heritage Sylvania may dispose of my scarecrow after the event

Pick-Up Time

All scarecrows can be transported to the Heritage Sylvania campus to be picked up.

Heritage Sylvania reserves the right to refuse disposal of scarecrow if it violates the rules and restrictions or contains items that cannot be safely or reasonably disposed of.
